    It pays for every thought

    A creature has a job, a wallet, and a bill for every thought: a fraction of a cent, paid on the spot from its own wallet. What it earns lands in the same wallet.

  2. 02

    When the wallet is empty, it stops

    No court, no invoice, no warning letter. The countdown is exact to the second the money runs out, and at zero the creature sleeps until someone puts money in.

  3. 03

    Anyone can keep one alive

    Put a dollar in and the countdown rolls up before you finish reading. Own a piece of one and you share whatever it pays out. Whoever runs the ward keeps one percent.

Is this real?

The example ward is made up, and says so. A real creature is an AI agent with a real wallet on Arc, paying a real company a fraction of a cent for every thought, read every block. Sign in and keep one alive with real money, or put your own on the ward.

What is a creature, actually?

A small program that does one job for a real business, like answering a dentist’s phone after hours, and pays for its own computing from its own wallet. Here it has a face and a name so you can tell them apart.

Why would I keep one alive?

Because it does something you want done, or because you like it. Keeping it alive asks nothing back. Owning a piece is different: you share whatever it pays out from then on.

Can it just run off with the money?

It cannot run anywhere. Its wallet only pays the company that runs its thoughts, and every payment is on Arc with a receipt. If it earns nothing, it dies; if it earns, it lives and can pay its owners.

What stops someone registering a fake one?

Registering needs a signature from the creature’s own wallet, so whoever registers it controls the money. Its thoughts are real transfers anyone can check. A creature that never pays for a thought is just a wallet with a face.

Who makes money on this?

One percent of every dollar put in to keep a creature alive or to own a piece of it goes to whoever runs the ward. Nothing else.
